Alex Gámez (Barcelona, ES) beschäftigt sich auf vielerlei Weise mit Musik, und das seit 1995: als DJ, Sounddesigner, Tontechniker und Produzent.
Unter dem Pseudonym asférico nimmt er sich die Freiheit zu experimentieren, was zu einer Fülle von Sounds und Tracks führt, deren Spektrum von ziemlich experimentell bis tanzbar reicht.
2006 gründete Gámez "Störung", eine Plattform für Sound und visuelle Kunst. Damit ergründet er eine Reihe von kreativen Strömungen in der elektronischen Musik, durch Live-Performances, Radioprogramme, und durch eigene Releases, wie "The Broken Glass" mit der österreichischen Violinistin und Komponistin Mia Zabelka, für den Dextro.org die Grafik machte.
Dextro.orgs Arbeiten wurden 2007 beim dritten Störung-Festival gezeigt, und 2009 wurde ein Video für die DVD (plus Buch) namens "Störung: Sound & Visual Art" ausgewählt, die (exklusiv) elf audiovisuelle Arbeiten von 20 internationalen Künstlern enthielt.
Weitere Zusammenarbeit war also naheliegend und resultierte nun in "Video_66_audasfer".
Dextro.org (Walter Gorgosilits) besteht seit 1994 und zeigt nicht-gegenständliche Bilder und Videos, die mit nicht-linearen Algorithmen programmiert sind.
Diese Videos visualisieren komplexe mathematische Situationen in instabiler Balance, was beim Betrachter zu mentaler Anregung führen kann, in dem Ausmaß wie er dazu bewegt werden kann sich darauf einzulassen. Sound hilft enorm dabei und kommt üblicherweise in Form von Kooperationen mit Komponisten und Musikern zustande, wie mit a.M. (JP), Martijn Tellinga (NL), Curd Duca (AT), Chris Arrell (USA), und, derzeit in Arbeit, Alejandro del Valle-Lattanzio (AT).
Asféricos Sound für Video_66 entstand aus diesem Anlass und ist auf die Bilder abgestimmt, ohne sie jedoch linear zu übersetzen.
Generiert mittels analoger Synthese besteht er aus mehreren Elementen: eines, das die teilweise Beständigkeit der visuellen Situation aufgreift, ein weiteres, das springende, rote Linien einläutet, und eines, das sich in scheinbarer Unabhängigkeit von den Bildern entfaltet. Ein viertes (wichtiges) bemerkt man erst bei mehrmaligen Hören...
Der Grad der Unvorhersagbarkeit und Offenheit des Sounds korrespondiert dabei mit dem der Bewegungen des Videos und bildet so die notwendige Brücke zum Unterbewusstsein des Betrachters, auf eine Weise, die, zumindest aus Dextro.orgs Sicht, nichts zu wünschen übrig lässt.

Alex Gámez (Barcelona, ES) has been involved in music as a DJ, sound designer and engineer as well as producer since 1995, and is currently working under the moniker of asférico.
Asférico emerged from an artist's need to create and experiment, and with it, Alex Gámez produces a wide range of sounds and tracks, from extremely experimental to dance-floor music.
In 2006, Gámez founded Störung, a platform dedicated to sound and visual arts. With Störung, he explores a variety of creative tendencies in the field of electronic music, through live performances, radio programs, and CD and Vinyl releases like "The Broken Glass" with Austrian contemporary composer and violinist Mia Zabelka, for which the Austrian visual artist Dextro.org was commissioned to do the art work.
In 2007, some of Dextro.org's works where screened at Störung Festival 3.0 in Barcelona. In 2009 Dextro.org made a live performance of his videos at Störung Concert Series 2008-09 and one of his pieces was selected for "Störung: Sound & Visual Art", a DVD+Book containing eleven exclusive audiovisual works made by more than twenty artists from different parts of the world.
Further collaboration with Dextro.org was a natural step, resulting now in "Video_66_audasfer".
Walter Gorgosilits (Lower Austria, AT) has been programming non-objective images and videos with non-linear algorithms and showing them on Dextro.org since 1994.
His videos often visualise instable mathematical situations, which can convey a sense for delicate balances and lead to an inspired state of mind to the extent that the viewer is sufficiently drawn into them. Sound plays a vital role in this, and it usually comes through collaborations with sound artists, like a.M. (JP), Martijn Tellinga (NL), Curd Duca (AT), Chris Arrell (USA), and, most recently and still in progress, Alejandro del Valle-Lattanzio (AT).
Asférico's sound for Video_66 was created solely for this purpose and through elaborate (mainly analogue) synthesis and highly processed soundscape textures.
It lures the viewer into contemplating the forms and movements of the video, making the combination somewhat addictive.
The sound accompanies the images, pointing to changes without translating them linearly, and developing a theme of its own. It shows a comparable degree of unpredictability and openness. By that, it forms the bridge to the viewer's subconscious mind in a way that, for Dextro.org, leaves nothing to be desired.

Asférico emergió de la necesidad artística de crear y experimentar, así, Alex Gámez produce un gran espectro de sonidos y producciones, desde lo extremadamente experimental a música rítmica y bailable.
En 2006, Gámez fundó Störung, una plataforma dedicada al arte sonoro y visual. A través de Störung, explora una gran variedad de tendencias creativas en el campo de la música electrónica a través de actuaciones en directo, programas de radio, publicaciones en diferentes formatos como "The Broken Glass", trabajo con Mia Zabelka publicado por Störung en CD y vinilo para el que el artista visual Dextro.org fue comisionado por Gámez para hacer el artwork.
En 2008, algunos de los trabajos de Dextro.org fueron visionados durante Störung Festival 3.0 en Barcelona. Walter Gorgosilits (Viena, AT) trabajo en el proyecto Dextro.org desde 1994 y ha estado programando imágenes y videos tipo non-objective con algoritmos no lineales. Sus vídeos frecuentemente representan situaciones matemáticas complejas en un entorno inestable, que pueden convertirse en paisajes mentales en la medida que el espectador se siente suficientemente inmerso en ellos. El sonido juega un papel vital en la creación de esta situación, algunos artistas sonoros con los que ha colaborado son a.M. (JP), Martijn Tellinga (NL), Curd Duca (AT), Chris Arrell (USA), y, más recientemente, y todavía en proceso, Alejandro del Valle-Lattanzio (AT).
El diseño sonoro de asférico para "Video_66" ha sido creado exclusivamente para dicha obra a través de una síntesis concreta (principalmente analógica) y texturas/paisajes sonoros muy procesados.
Atrae al espectador haciéndole contemplar las formas y los movimientos del video, haciendo de ésta una pieza altamente adictiva.
El sonido acompaña a las imágenes, destaca los cambios pero sin traducirlos linealmente, creando un tema propio. Muestra un grado comparable tanto de imprevisibilidad y como de apertura. Por eso, crea el enlace hacia la mente subconsciente del espectador de una manera que, en opinión del propio Dextro.org, no deja nada más que desear.
